Country Experience
Long and broad experience in SE Asia: Vietnam, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Bangladesh, Philippines, Malaysia, India, Mekong River Basin, among others:
- From 2016-2019 I implemented several long-term cooperation and consulting projects in the coastal zone and Mekong Delta of Vietnam, including a senior position in the Mekong Delta Integrated Regional Plan project (MDIRP)
- In 2015 I supported the Lao PDR National Integrated Water Resources Management Support Program (NIWRMSP, funded by ADB and AUSAid) and worked for some 24 weeks in Vientiane, Lao PDR
- From 2008 till 2014 I worked on various water-related cooperation projects and consulting assignments in Vietnam
- From 1996 till 2001 I conducted various geoscience and environmental studies all over Indonesia and in the Philippines and Vietnam
- In the period 1989-1994 I lived in Bandung, Indonesia and worked on the geology of the Bandung basin
Middle East: short assignments in Oman, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Syria, Pal. Territories, Jordan
Africa: various short assignments and long-term institutional cooperation in Benin, Mozambique, Uganda, Tanzania, Ghana, South Africa, Eritrea
Various short assignments for/in: EU-Brussels, Romania, Russia, Costa Rica, The Netherlands, Guyana
- In 1994-1995 I was Co-Director of the EU funded Environmental Studies programme at the University of Guyana, Georgetown
